Many fertility treatments attract a rebate from Medicare. The Medicare Safety Net also provides additional rebates for people with large medical expenses. Once you reach the Medicare Safety Net threshold in a calendar year, Medicare will pay an additional rebate on selected items.
The tables below provide an estimate of your out of pocket costs for fertility treatment and associated services with IVFAustralia. Once your personalised treatment plan has been agreed between you and your specialist, our experienced patient support team will contact you within 48 hours to provide you with a detailed cost estimate so you are fully aware of the total fee and out of pocket expenses for your fertility treatment.
If attending our Canberra clinic or Newcastle & Gosford clinics or a regional centre please confirm with the clinic and/or the day hospital for current pricing.

What's included in my fees?
Once you commence fertility treatment, all of the following are included in your fees:
Preparation and management of your cycle by your fertility specialist
A cycle and medication orientation, conducted by our experienced nursing team
Cycle monitoring through blood tests and ultrasounds
All scientific services, which take place in our own laboratories
Counselling services throughout your treatment
Specialist Day Hospital Admission
For patients undergoing IVF or ICSI cycles, all egg collections and embryo transfers are undertaken in one of our Specialist Day Hospitals under a local or general anaesthetic.
There is no Medicare rebate available for Specialist Day Hospital procedures, although some rebates do exist for anaesthetic services. Therefore, the amount for which you are covered for these admissions is dependent on your level of private health insurance cover.
If you don't have health insurance from a private health fund, you can expect to pay around $2000 for Specialist Day Hospital care (payable on the day of admission) and an anaesthetist (billed separately). Our Specialist Day Hospital team will contact you in advance of your procedure to inform you of the fees involved.
